2009 FBR Open Birdies For Charity Pledge Drive The Phoenix Thunderbirds 2009 FBR Open Birdies for Charity Program is a pledge drive based on the total number of birdies made by PGA TOUR players during the FBR Open golf tournament, January 26th-February 1st, 2009. Pledges of one cent or more per birdie can be designated to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona. For every cent a person pledges, their name will be entered in a drawing for more than 100 prizes including the Grand Prize of a 2009 Buick. It's estimated that between 1,300 and 1,800 birdies will be made, so a pledge of $0.01 per birdie would result in a $13 to $18 donation. 100% of the donations designated on our pledge forms are received by the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona. Contact Heather King at 602-406-3581 or Heather.King@chw.edu. Our BFC number is 173. Pledge forms should be completed and mailed to Heather King at: Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona

3rd Annual Mardi Gras Gala benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona The 3rd Annual Mardi Gras Gala benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona is scheduled for Fat Tuesday, February 24th, 2009. This signature fundraising event of the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona is attended by corporate and community leaders who are looking tolaissez les bons temps rouler (let the good times roll) while giving back to the epilepsy community. This annual Mardi Gras Gala is a delightfully upbeat experience, mirroring the activities and celebrations of the Mardi Gras Festival in New Orleans and is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated charity events of the year. A King’s Parade, Cajun music, fire-performers, fortune tellers, jugglers, magicians, casino games and rollicking musical entertainment make this a truly authentic Mardi Gras experience.
The highlight of the Gala is the crowning of the “Mardi Gras King”. This is an honor given to a select individual in the community who embodies the sprit of philanthropy and believes in and supports the mission of the epilepsy. The king’s active involvement in business and social concerns throughout the valley prove his desire to support local organizations.
If you know a community leader that the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona should honor, please contact Heather King for a nomination form.
Money raised from the event funds the many programs and services of the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona and raises epilepsy awareness throughout the valley.
