Eric R. Hargis is President and CEO of the Epilepsy Foundation. In that capacity, he leads a staff team and supports the Foundation’s volunteer leadership in its nationwide commitment to ensure that people with epilepsy and seizures are able to participate in all life experiences and to prevent, control and cure epilepsy through research, education, advocacy and services.

Mr. Hargis, a graduate of the University of San Diego, has more than 30 years of experience with national voluntary health agencies. Prior to joining the Epilepsy Foundation, he held increasingly senior leadership positions with the Arthritis Foundation (Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President, Operations, and Group Vice President, Financial). Before that he served with the American Diabetes Association, primarily focused on fund raising, first at the local and then at the national level. Hargis began his career with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, with assignments in California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
