Talk to UsThere are a number of ways you can talk to us and to each other, including a discussion forum, chat events and submitting an announcement about your current efforts. Discussion ForumWithin the Foundation's eCommunities board, there are a number of threaded discussion forums where you can post your ideas and opinions and get to know other people affected by epilepsy from around the U.S.... and around the world. The Advocacy Forum was created specifically as a place where Public Policy Institute alumni/ae can discuss initiatives, ideas and plans. You will need to create a user account, if you do not already have one. The best User IDs are short (5-10 characters) and have no special characters (capital letters, spaces, punctuation). Registration is free for anyone, and you can use the same registration information each time you want to participate in the forums or in chat sessions. Register Now! Remember: do not share your home address or telephone number in your posts. Report anything that seems suspicious to efmoderator@efa.org, and we will take care of it. Chat EventWe will be hosting live online events where you can talk to others about advocacy and about working to improve the lives of people living with epilepsy. The first event, hosted by Board of Directors Chair Tony Coelho, will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at 8:00 p.m. This will be a good opportunity to talk about what your advocacy plans are for the upcoming year and Congressional priorities for the fall season. PollsPeriodically, we will feature surveys here to get your input on future programs and to find out what you think is most important as an epilepsy advocate. Submit Your Current ProjectsWe want to know what you are doing to get the word out about people with epilepsy. Whether it's giving H.O.P.E. mentor presentations, participating in your affiliate office's walk, meeting with elected officials, organizing a rally, talking to a reporter, or another type of effort, we would like to help you make these projects successful and to spread good ideas throughout the country. Using the form below, let us know what you are doing and how to follow up with you. The form is secure and the information you put in will go directly to Epilepsy Foundation staff. Each month, we will pick one effort to be featured on In the Spotlight. Submit today... it could be you! |
