"I think people who have seizures should be treated like everyone else."
-- Amanda

Amanda Devine has a broad range of interests including helping other children with disabilities, painting and taking care of animals. Because she has epilepsy, Amanda has been taunted and teased at school, which led her to arrange for a health educator to inform her classmates about seizure disorders.

The courageous 12 year old has also shared her story to help inspire other children with disabilities about their great potential and to help her peers understand that everyone deserves equal treatment.

Amanda is eager to participate as an advocate in the 2005 Kids Speak Up! program to help shed light on the difficulties that people with epilepsy experience.
