Alec Flores

Age: 11
Grade: 5
Incline Village, Nevada

Alec Flores enjoys swimming, skiing, snowboarding and loves to play basketball. He was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 5. Luckily for Alec, his seizures are controlled with medication.

Alec is very involved in fundraising efforts in his local community. Recently, his projects have included toy drives to benefit underprivileged children, and raising money for pet organizations and local schools. He plans on utilizing his fundraising capabilities to generate awareness about seizure disorders.

Through the 2005 Kids Speak Up! program, Alec wants to communicate that children with epilepsy are no different than other kids.
