Joel Irwin has experienced many challenges since he was diagnosed with epilepsy. Despite these setbacks, Joel continues to exceed the expectations of his parents and teachers. He is involved in fundraising efforts to help the Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee increase epilepsy awareness.

Always ready for a new challenge, Joel decided to participate in Kids Speak Up! to advocate on behalf of other children with epilepsy. Joel wants to ensure children do not experience discrimination because they have epilepsy.
