Daniel Rivard

Danny Rivard was first diagnosed with epilepsy at age 4. For his family, this means struggling through the unpredictable and often frightening nature of seizures to find the right medication to help manage the young boy's condition.

As an advocate for the 2005 Kids Speak Up! program, Danny hopes to help people understand they should not be afraid of children who have seizures. He would like for the world to know that children with epilepsy are nice kids and enjoy doing fun things just like their peers. Since many children with epilepsy have learning difficulties and must work harder to succeed in school, Danny also hopes to focus more attention on teachers and the significant impact they can make by providing children with epilepsy extra support to complete tasks.
