"Epilepsy is a hard disorder to have, but if more people come forward to share their stories kids with epilepsy will know they are not alone."

Joe is an intelligent, articulate 10 year old who is said to be a charmer. He has dreams of one day finding a cure for epilepsy. Initially, his seizures were misdiagnosed until an episode in a swimming pool nearly cost him his life.

Since the diagnosis, Joe relies heavily on support from his family and friends. In school, he educated his classmates about how to administer seizure first aid, in the event he experiences a convulsion.
