"I go to bed earlier than most teens my age, but I can't complain because it keeps me seizure-free. Despite that, I'm your average guy who just happens to have epilepsy." For 16-year-old Andrew, living with epilepsy has its challenges and driving is one of them. Like any teenager, Andrew is anxious to borrow the car keys to get behind the wheel.
Diagnosed at age 4, Andrew's seizures were easily controlled until he became a teenager. Now, he experiences infrequent occurrences, which pose a threat to his ability to drive.
Andrew is determined not to allow his condition to stand in his way. He hopes that his story can inspire other kids to follow their dreams no matter the limitations.
Andrew feels it is important to spread awareness about his seizure disorder and educate future generations about epilepsy, in order to eliminate stigma and reduce discrimination.
