Jackson Newsome

Hometown: South Charleston, West Virginia

"I like to go online and learn more about epilepsy to share with my friends and family.  A lot of people don't know about it, so I try to do what I can to teach them."

Jackson Newsome's diagnosis of epilepsy at age 5 was extremely difficult for him and his family. He suffered with seizures for 5 years prior to the diagnosis. Like many families, the Newsomes were not familiar with epilepsy or seizure disorders prior to Jackson's diagnosis. This experience has been and continues to be an eye opener for their entire family.

Jackson is eager to participate in the 2006 Kids Speak Up! program to promote equal treatment for people with epilepsy.
