KSU Participant Ranece Stacker

Ranece is a cheerful child who loves to dance. She likes lots of attention and enjoys bear hugs from her father.

Ranece's mom says, "There is never a dull moment in our home as long as she's there. Ranece is always smiling and laughing, and finds pleasure in watching wrestling."

Diagnosed with epilepsy as an infant, Ranece has had to overcome many adversities, from an unsympathetic school system to judgmental family members and friends. Since she is non-verbal, it is difficult for her to express her frustrations and disappointments, which is why her parents advocate on her behalf.

Ranece and her sister Rashai, who also has epilepsy, are eager to join the Kids Speak Up! program to increase awareness for kids with epilepsy. The Stacker family is excited to share their story to help eliminate the stigma associated with the condition.
