National Epilepsy Awareness Month Resolution Passes House
Posted: November 20, 2003 The Epilepsy Foundation is very pleased to announce that the resolution declaring November as National Epilepsy Awareness Month passed the House of Representatives by unanimous consent on November 19, 2003. The resolution passed the Senate, also by unanimous consent, earlier in the year on June 12. Introduced by Sen. Blanche Lincoln and Rep. Corrine Brown, this resolution will assist the Epilepsy Foundation's efforts to raise awareness about the condition. It also recognizes the need to educate school personnel, teachers, care providers, police, and others on how to recognize and respond appropriately to seizures. The Foundation would like to thank everyone who played a role in helping to pass this resolution and encourages everyone to contact their senators and representatives thanking them for their support. If your senator or representative is a cosponsor please mention that in the letter, as well. This was a tremendous grassroots effort and the Foundation appreciates your efforts in making it happen.
