Epilepsy Expo Chicago 2010

This all-day conference at the Stonegate Conference Center in Hoffman Estates will address a variety of topics in adult and pediatric epilepsy.

People with epilepsy their family or friends, caregivers, nurses, teachers, social workers, and primary care providers are encouraged to attend. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided, as will childcare services for attendees bringing children.

Camp Backhawk

The date's for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago’s popular camp for kids ages 6–18 have been set! Camp Blackhawk will be taking place July 18 - July 23, 2010.

Camp Blackhawk, which is conducted at Red Leaf Village located on the grounds of Camp Henry Horner in Ingleside, IL, is a week-long overnight camp for children and teenagers with epilepsy. It’s a great opportunity for kids to experience the fun of camp activities—swimming, fishing, hiking, crafts, and more—all designed to be accessible and adapted to individual needs and abilities, and all in a safe, medically-monitored setting.

Their is no cost to attend camp, however, donations are accepted to help its funding. Priority acceptance into Camp Blackhawk will be given to children residing within the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago’s 43-county service area.
