Epilepsy Me and The World
A poem

Epilepsy

an all to uncommon word.

A silent yet loud predator in so many

but within so few.

Me

a young intelligent teen

with the world at her fingertips.

A combination in which baffles many,

and frustrates so few,

It’s a darkness for many,

Yet a light for me, and maybe you.

A light hope

that shines within my eyes,

It’s a glare of fire,

that surely will never die.

So many are ashamed,

so many hide and cry,

So many like myself,

Show their epilepsy with pride.
