Fifth-grader's Epilepsy Website Wins Top Award
Alyssa Genna used to think monsters were following her around. But they weren't. Alyssa has epilepsy and when she has seizures, she sees spots that she used to think were monsters. She tells all about her experience with epilepsy on her website, "Growing Up With Epilepsy." Alyssa and her fifth grade classmate Daniel Chen designed it, and they won an award from ThinkQuest® Jr.

Creative Superstars Win Cash; Celebrity Visit
Students in Mrs. McKim's fourth grade class at Capital Hill Elementary school are award winning artists. The class won first place in the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota's Be Seizure Smart poster contest. Their poster was picked from 25 posters from five different schools.

Teenage Superstar Sounds Off on Feeling Accepted and Teaching Others
Sixteen-year old Jackie Sortino is the Epilepsy Foundation's of Rochester & Syracuse Region's Winning Teen. She is very happy she can teach others about epilepsy. "The more I educate people about epilepsy, the better I feel," Jackie said.
