No matter how much you read or how hard you try, there is only so much you, by yourself, can do to help your child. While every family's situation is different and each child's condition unique, after a while just about all parents recommend the same thing: "Build a support network. Do not try to do it alone!"

The school nurse, your local Epilepsy Foundation, government organizations, an online forum, all are examples of where you can find support, information and other resources. However, most of the time, you need to seek out this support. This is sometimes the hardest thing for people to do, and often the thing they are most glad they did afterward.

One of the greatest rewards of building a support network is that it can also open doors for you to help others. As you reach out, you'll find that you have learned things and found resources that can help other families who are struggling with similar issues. So don't wait. Get involved now!
