Speak Up Speak Out Public Policy Network

The Epilepsy Foundation's Speak Up Speak Out Public Policy Network helps protect the rights of people with epilepsy and seizure disorders. The group also works to ensure that their concerns are fully considered by those formulating public policy and legislation.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona believes there is a critical need to develop a strong, organized epilepsy advocacy network here in Arizona. Such a group would help to protect the rights of people with epilepsy and seizure disorders. The group would also work to ensure that their concerns are fully considered by those formulating public policy and legislation.

There are many ways you can become involved in the Speak Up Speak Out Public Policy Network. Consider taking an active role that you feel is appropriate for you. Grassroots organization will help the Epilepsy Foundation to communicate with legislators, Public Policy volunteers and our general membership. We will use Action Alerts to notify you when policy makers are discussing important issues that affect people living with epilepsy.

  • You can call your legislators during an Action Alert phone campaign.
  • You can write and e-mail your legislators during an Action Alert letter campaign.

Real stories have real influence. The most effective advocates are those who have personal accounts to share with others - legislators, the media, and the public.

  • You can visit and establish personal contact with your legislators in order to educate them about epilepsy and the role it plays in your life.
  • You can deliver testimony at public hearings.
  • You can write to your community newspaper in order to educate the public about epilepsy and how it affects your life.
