Creative Ways to Support EFGCThere are many unique ways to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. Here are some creative ideas being undertaken by a number of our friends: • One family ran fundraising activities during their annual family picnic. They donated the proceeds to EFGC in honor of their daughter, who has a rare form of epilepsy.
• Several engaged couples, including one of our own staff members, have made a gift to the EFGC on the occasion of their weddings. They publicized the gift by distributing cards to their wedding guests, informing them that a gift will be made to our organization.
• Although EFGC does not have a team in the Chicago Marathon this year, a couple of our supporters are asking friends for pledges for their participation in the race, and will donate the proceeds to us.
• A local mom has organized a dinner and auction benefit in honor of her daughter who has epilepsy, with proceeds going to EFGC.
• Yet another group of supporters organized a fundraiser in memory of their friend, a young woman who tragically passed away from complications from epilepsy. They held a race and a social night at a local bar and restaurant. Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and other events can all be an occasion to spread the word about the important work of our organization. The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago welcomes these gifts, as they demonstrate the spirit of commitment to our shared vision: improving the lives of people with epilepsy.
