Mardi Gras 2007 Wrap-UpThe 3rd Annual Mardi Gras Gala was held on Fat Tuesday-February 20th, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency. This festive event began with a cocktail reception and was followed by a parade led by members of the St. Xavier High School Marching Band. This year, Mr. Jack Cassidy, CEO of Cincinnati Bell was crowned “King of Mardi Gras” and accepted an award on behalf of Cincinnati Bell for all of the remarkable service they dedicate to the Cincinnati community. Our guest speaker was Miss Erin Grasty, an amazing 13 year old who has epilepsy. Erin did a fantastic job of informing everyone of exactly what it is like to have epilepsy. . . from a teenager’s point of view. Mr. Cassidy and Mr. Thom Brennaman, the Master of Ceremonies, surprised everyone with an impromptu live auction, which quickly raised $10,000. The event was a huge success and grossed $152,000! We truly appreciate all of our sponsors and volunteers who helped make this event such an overwhelming success. A big thank-you goes to Hewlett-Packard for being the Title Sponsor for Mardi Gras. We would also like to thank Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions, Cincinnati Bell, Microsoft and Cintech for all of their time, effort and financial support. Thank you!!! This event takes a tremendous amount of volunteers to transform the Hyatt into a New Orleans Bourbon Street party. We would like to thank all of the volunteers from Fifth Third Bank, Holy Family Home Educators Youth Volunteers, staff from the Epilepsy Foundation, the International Association of Administrative Professionals Cincinnati Chapter and Michael Shirk & members of the St. Xavier High School Marching Band.
