Epilepsy Foundation of Central & Northeast Wisconsin

Educational Programs

The Epilepsy Foundation of Central and Northeast Wisconsin provides educational programs free of charge to schools, community organizations and businesses throughout our service area. We also provide presentations for school health fairs and teacher in-services.

School Programs

Children with seizure disorders have unique challenges at school. These challenges may mean first aid for seizures, but the challenges can also be a great learning experience for others! When the school community is well informed and supportive of the student with epilepsy, a positive outcome for everyone is possible. The Epilepsy Foundation of Central and Northeast Wisconsin can help!

We have programs for each grade, K-12. Each program is age-appropriate and teaches about seizures, first aid and respecting differences. Programs for younger children require 15-20 minutes, while older children's programs require about 45 minutes. Small groups are best, so repeating programs in individual classrooms is encouraged. Programs are presented free of charge.

Community and Business Programs

We have programs designed to educate employees of businesses that deal with the public. We can train your staff in seizure recognition and proper first aid procedures should a seizure occur. We present information that helps your staff to recognize signs of seizure activity and to accurately report the incident should the need arise.

Our programs can be tailored to your staff needs and can be scheduled at your convenience. Programs are often presented to:

  • Businesses
  • Civic Groups
  • Church Groups
  • Daycare Providers
  • Emergency Medical Providers
  • Home Health Care Providers
  • Pool and recreational attendants
  • Babysitter Training
