Events

1st Annual Saratoga Stroll for Epilepsy will be held on Sunday, September 27th,
at the Saratoga Spa State Park, Columbia Pavilion. 
Join others for a 3 mile "stroll"
thru the beautiful park! Enjoy a BBQ lunch immediately following. 
Register on or before Sept. 1st, $20/person; after Sept. 1st, $25/person;
children 12 and under are FREE. First 100 registrations will receive a
Saratoga Stroll for Epilepsy t-shirt! View the brochure for more event information.
Registration is required.  If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation,
you may now donate to the Stroll at www.firstgiving.com/26240.

Please note, there will be a $6 Parking/Entrance Fee if you do not receive a parking
pass from the Foundation prior to the event.  The Foundation will mail
you a pass once we receive your registration.  Please allow a few days for mailing.

6th ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT will be held on Monday, October 5th, 2009,
at the Wolferts Roost Country Club.  Golfers will enjoy a BBQ lunch from
11:00am-12:15pm, followed by a shotgun start at 12:30pm (note earlier time!). 
The Awards Reception will be held at 6pm following golf, which will include
a cocktail hour, food stations, raffle prizes and live auction. 
$225/golfer; $900/foursome.

NEW THIS YEAR -  Each golfer will receive a NIKE Windshirt and golf gloves;
the Titleist and Cobra 2010 line will be available for you to check-out and demo
(not yet in stores!); have your own personal cigar rolled by Habana Premium Cigars;

Bowl for Epilepsy
 was held on Monday, June 1st, at Sunset Recreation, Albany. 
Approximately 165 bowlers attended and over $21,000 was raised!  Two games of
bowling, and pizza and refreshments donated by local businessess were enjoyed by
the bowlers!  Pictures of the event coming soon!

The Top Fundraisers received prizes.  They were:  Individual:  Lillie Reittinger;

Teen To Teen is a social teen support group for teens with epilepsy 
ages 13-19.  Meetings are held at the Foundation office, located at 3 Washington Square, Albany.  Please call the office for the

The Annual Dinner was held on Wednesday, November 12th at Wolferts Roost
Country Club. Individuals and businesses who supported the Foundation over the
past year were recognized for their support and dedication to our endeavors,
as well as the current Winning Kids.  View this year's

Confections in Chocolate, our largest annual fundraiser, was held on
Saturday, March 7th, 2009 at Wolferts Roost Country Club.  We are pleased to
announce that we raised almost $60,000!  Approximately 250 attendees enjoyed an
evening of cocktails, music, dancing, entertainment, silent and live auctions, dinner,
and an array of chocolate desserts - the highlight of the evening!  This year's theme
was "Hooray for Hollywood!" and many dressed to suit the theme!

Talk About It @ Dinner!
Across Northeastern New York,
Friday, November 6 - Sunday, November 8, 2009

During the weekend of November 6-8, Epilepsy Foundation staff, board members, and friends within the 22 counties served, will host "at-home" dinner parties to raise awareness and money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York.  Encouraged by the National Epilepsy Foundation, affiliates from across the country will also be hosting such parties.  Parties may be in your home, at work, at a restaurant, you decide what works best for you!  Our goal is to have 100 dinners during the month of November, during Epilepsy Awareness Month.  If the weekend of November 6-8 does not work for you, anytime during the month of November is fine.  For more information and to receive Talk About It! materials, please contact the Talk About It! This year's Family Conference will feature a full day presentation of the S.E.E. Program (Seizures and Epilepsy Education) and will be conducted by Robert Mittan, Ph.D., founder of this empowering program.  The S.E.E. Program is an international award-winning seminar designed for persons with epilepsy, family members, and children as young as 12 years old.  S.E.E. was created to give people with epilepsy the power to overcome the disabling fears seizures cause.  The primary goal of the Seizures and Epilepsy Education Program is to empower individuals and family members to take control over their lives.  To learn more about the S.E.E.
