2007 Jacksonville Walk

On Saturday, November 3, 2007, the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida-Jacksonville sponsored its 5^th Annual Walk for Epilepsy to raise money and awareness. This year’s event was dedicated to the memory of Dr. William Turk, Chief Pediatric Neurologist at Nemours Children’s Clinic and a long time Board member and Chair of the Professional Advisory Board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeast Florida. Dr. Turk passed away on September 23^rd. 

A beautiful November sunrise greeted the more than 140 walkers that turned out to travel the nearly 5 mile route along the St. Johns river. First., Second and Third place trophies were awarded the top three finishers and there were drawings for many give away prizes as well! Trophies were also presented to the largest team and the team that raised the most money. At the end of the day, the Foundation raised a net amount in excess of $21,000, far and away the best result of any of its events. We thank all of those individuals and teams that participated in the walk either through pledges or by being there and we look forward to seeing you next year, November 1, 2008
