Miami Dade's Walk on the Wild SideMiami - Dade Walk The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida – Miami Dade Chapter’s FIRST ANNUAL WALKATHON was held on May 3, 2008 at Miami Metro Zoo. The Walk on the Wild Side, as this year’s event was named, turned out to be an outstanding event where supporters of the Foundation were able to have a great time. The Foundation raised over $25,000 through sponsorships and pledges in support of local services. Board President Patricia Dean, M.S., ARNP delighted clients, families and other supporters by volunteering to raise money by sitting in a dunk tank. Children, teens and adults with epilepsy along with their supporters enjoyed breakfast for walkers, a serene walk in the zoo followed by lunch, snow cones, cotton candy, bounce house, face painting, music and raffle prizes. Guest appearances by The Power 96 radio morning crew & various entertainers capped off the event.
