girl sliding down a pole on a playsetEpilepsy is the most common neurological disorder in children. There are 350,000 children who have epilepsy/seizure disorders in the United States. The Epilepsy Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri has special programs for children and youth who have epilepsy/seizure disorders. Some of these programs have been developed by the national Epilepsy Foundation for the affiliates to participate. Children and teens face special concerns as they learn to live successfully with this disorder.

Staff encourages children and youth to participate in these programs to develop confidence, self-advocacy skills, employment skills, and social skills.
