The Epilepsy Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri has special programs for children and youth who have epilepsy/seizure disorders. Some of these programs have been developed by the national Epilepsy Foundation for the affiliates to participate. Children and teens face special concerns as they learn to live successfully with this disorder.

Staff encourages children and youth to participate in these programs to develop confidence, self-advocacy skills, employment skills, and social skills.

Camp Shing: This year our annual camp for kids will be held from June 5-7, 2009 at the Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood, KS. Each camper will receive a free Epilepsy Foundation green recycle bag and the camper with the best idea of how to save the environment will win a prize. For more information on how to register for Camp Shing contact the foundation at 816-444-2800 or email staylor@efha.org.
