Mission
The Epilepsy Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri is dedicated to empowering people affected by epilepsy/seizure disorders to live the lives they choose.
Education Mission
Provide patients, family and the community with accurate information so that understanding is elevated and inclusion is the result.
Advocacy Mission
Provide leadership in the community as a collective voice of persons affected by epilepsy/seizure disorder.
Service Mission
Serve the community with reliable access to appropriate services and interventions for persons with epilepsy/seizure disorder, their families and the community at large.
Vision
The vision of the Foundation is to:
- Be recognized as the leading regional organization meeting the needs of people affected by epilepsy/seizure disorders.
- Educate the public, private persons of influence, caregivers and those affected with epilepsy/seizure disorders about how best to treat and deal with seizures.
- Be an impassioned advocate for persons with epilepsy/seizure disorders in policy making forums.
- Provide outreach services to individuals affected with epilepsy/seizure disorders.
- Create broad public awareness about epilepsy/seizure disorders and the programs and services provided to help.
- Become the charitable opportunity of choice for community involvement, support and resources.
Purpose
- Stop the cycle of myths and misunderstanding about epilepsy.
- Stop the cycle of unemployment, underemployment, dependency, isolation, and suicide of people who have epilepsy.
