Epilepsy Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri

Professional Staff

Sean Patrick Taylor, Executive Director
Sean Patrick Taylor has worked with non-profit organizations throughout the United States for over 22 years.

As well as directing organizations of all sizes, he has served on the board of directors of non-profits around the country. This multifaceted involvement has given Sean the experience and knowledge of the challenges and opportunities non-profits face.

Sean gained additional knowledge when he worked on the other side of the coin awarding grants to non profits working in Public Affairs at a large pharmaceutical company. This gave him the understanding of how the philosophies and techniques used in the for-profit world can benefit non-profits.

Sean has written over 300 grants with an 80% funding rate. As well as a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a BS in Psychology, Sean is completing his master’s degree in Communication Leadership and has trained at some of the top philanthropic centers in the nation, including the Foundation Center in New York. He also is qualified in sign language interpreting. As owner of Taylor Professional Consulting for the past eight years, he has helped non-profits around the country better their organizations through grant writing, strategic/organizational planning, marketing and board development.

Sean has a passion for education, currently teaching an average of three grant writing classes per year and three classes on passion presenting. His philosophy is that it is better to teach an organization to fish than to do the fishing for them.

Sean has been a keynote speaker at conferences and seminars across the country and has developed nationally recognized educational and social programs, videos and other communications that have won him numerous awards.
