  • Effects of Epilepsy on School Performance

  • How to Develop a Seizure Action Plan
  • Parent/Teacher Communication Guidelines
  • Treatment of Epilepsy Including Medication, Vagus Nerve Stimulation and Diastat
  • And much more!

Schools that conduct trainings are given informational brochures, books, and videos for future reference.  A school staff that knows how to properly deal with seizures creates an atmosphere that will better enable the student with epilepsy to join in school activities and be accepted by the other students. There are approximately 300,000 students in public schools who have epilepsy.

Seizures can be frightening and disruptive, but with knowledge and facts, they don't have to dominate a classroom.  Call today to set up your FREE in-service.

Training for Senior Citizen Caretakers

Epilepsy is the third most common neurological disorder affecting the elderly after dementia and stroke - affecting 550,000 people in the U.S. of ages 65 and above.  The incidence of epilepsy in the elderly exceeds that of any other age group including children.  Because some types of seizures in the elderly may mimic other conditions, they often go undiagnosed.

You can provide your staff with a valuable tool in caring for your clients by providing a training on Seizures and Seniors as offered by the Epilepsy Foundation.  This training covers all major topics relevant to epilepsy including:

  • Seizure Recognition and First Aid, including how to recognize the subtle signs of seizures
  • Emergency Care
  • Causes of Seizures in the Elderly
  • How to Develop a Seizure Action Plan
  • Treatment Issues for the Elderly

Contact the Foundation to set up your training.  Centers that conduct trainings are supplied with educational pamphlets, books, and videos for future reference.
