Expressions of Courage Art Contest

Art can provide an escape from day-to-day experiences of living with any disease or illness, and may be a way for people to express how they feel about hope, strength, courage and freedom. Now, people with epilepsy can show their creative talents by participationg in the Expressions of Courage Art Contest.
Through the contest, artists can creatively depict the day-to-day challenges they face living with epilepsy. Their artwork will help portray epilepsy and raise awareness of the condition through the eyes of those living with it every day.
People of all ages may submit original artwork, no larger than 8 ½ by 11 inches, that reflects their perspective on living with epilepsy. Artwork may be created in ink, pencil, crayon, marker, paint or any other flat medium, including computer-generated art.
Deadline: Artwork must be submitted no later than July 16, 2008.

Camp is open to all children that are residents of California. Campers must be between the ages of 9-15 and diagnosed by a physician as having a primary diagnosis of Epilepsy.

An Outward Bound Course for Youth with Epilepsy
Outward bound is offering a week-long outdoor adventure for young people with epilepsy, ages 16 to 25. For seven days you will explore the spectacular Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The group will be accompanied by two experienced outward bound adventure course leaders through out the course. In addition, a senior epileptologist will accompany the group on select segments of the program.
Limited scholarships may be available for eligible participants. For information on scholarships, please contact shauver@outwardbound.org
