Camp Discovery

Camp Discovery is a program for children with epilepsy who might otherwise miss out on a childhood experience most take for granted. Camp Discovery provides children with an opportunity to participate in camp activities and take normal childhood risks in a safe, supervised  environment.

Family Fun Time

Family Fun Time outings provide an opportunity for kids with epilepsy, their siblings, parents and caregivers to get to know other families affected by epilepsy through fun activities.  For more information or to register, e-mail mail@epilepsynw.org or call (206) 547-4551.

Parent Support Groups

Caring for someone with epilepsy can be very challenging.  Sometimes, the practical problems of daily living can seem overwhelming.  At other times, it helps just to talk to people who understand what it's like to live with epilepsy.  Our parent support group provides opportunities for you to talk about the issues that concern you, with people who know where you are coming from.

Did you know that there is a monthly meeting in the Portland metro area for parents of children with disabilities? It is called Gimme A Break! and is co-sponsored by United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Hospitals for Children. GAB is open to anyone raising a child with a disability and meets the second Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. To reserve free childcare or for further information, call Helene Tolliver at (503) 777-4166.
