Community Education
The Epilepsy Foundation makes a continuous effort to educate the general public about epilepsy. Our public education programs include workshops and presentations for a variety of general and specific audiences, such as:
- Schools (teachers and administrators, nurses, classes, and ancillary service personnel such as bus drivers and others)
- Other human services agencies
- Community organizations
- Business and industry of all kinds
Our programs and presentations emphasize:
- causes of epilepsy
- fallacies and myths
- seizure types
- first aid
- parenting issues
- employment concerns
- understanding and support
- new medical treatments for epilepsy
