Camp EAGR Community Education Workshops and presentations for schools (teachers and administrators, nurses, classes, bus and ancillary service providers), civic groups, corporations, and agencies are offered on how to identify and respond to seizures and on general issues related to individuals with epilepsy. Case Management & Service Coordination Epilepsy Foundation's staff of social workers and service coordinators offers a variety of case management and Medicaid service coordination programs for individuals and their families. We also offer community habilitation, STRESSpite (a respite program) and a Family Reimbursement Program. Some services require certification/eligibility from the Department of Health, from Medicaid and/or OMRDD; other services do not. We encourage anyone interested in these programs to call us for help and guidance. Employment Solutions Family Services Our STRESSpite program offers families respite in order to relieve some of the daily stresses of caring for a child with special needs. Our Family Reimbursement Program offers some financial assistance to families to assist them in meeting on-going needs for a child living at home with epilepsy and/or other developmental disabilities. Short-term counseling is offered to newly diagnosed individuals and their families. Family Support Groups These services are available to everyone and include support groups for adults with epilepsy, for parents of children with epilepsy, and for parents of children who have sustained a traumatic brain injury. Residential Programs Scholarship Program Rochester attorney and Epilepsy Foundation board member Stephen A. Segar has created a scholarship program that helps high school students with epilepsy go on to college or vocational or technical training. Scholarships are awarded to three students who attend high school within the 22-county territory served by the Epilepsy Foundation. Traumatic Brain Injury Services |
