About Epilepsy

epilepsy foundationEpilepsy affects people of all ages and races and presents significant issues to those with the condition.

Challenges include employment, financial cost, transportation, social interaction and education.

About one percent of the population in this country--more than 3 million people--have epilepsy.

Epilepsy can begin at any time of life. One in four of the more than 200,000 new cases of seizures every year are in children; and one in three begin in people over the age of 65.
