Camp Spike 'n' Wave®
June 15-21, 2008
Held at Camp For All in Burton, Texas, Camp Spike 'n' Wave® is a week-long, residential camping program for children between the ages of 8-14 with a primary diagnosis of epilepsy.
Campers must also be on some form of anti-epileptic therapy during camp. On site for the week of camp, pediatric neurologist Dr. Gary Clark and his staff of nurses administer medication and answer any questions campers may have.
Camp is provided free of charge to all campers.
Campers participate in activities such as:
- ROPES Course
- Horseback Riding
- Canoeing
- Archery
- Arts & Crafts
- Swimming
- Fishing
Campers also enjoy night games, water day games, the dance, and just hanging out! Click here to view pictures from camp.

REQUIREMENTS
We will take approximately 160 campers to campSpike ‘n’ Wave this year. All of our campers are between the ages of 8-14 yrs of age. Each camper must have a primary diagnosis of epilepsy or seizure disorder. Because our camper to counselor ratio is 3:1, not 1:1, children with other special needs will be accepted so long as they are able to feed and bathe themselves as well as use the restroom without assistance and have no major behavioral problems. We will make sure these things are done, but we are not able to do them for the child. We will take care of all medications. Counselors participate alongside the campers and are always with the children. The pediatric neurologist, Dr. Gary Clark, and nurses are always on site and readily available. Please click the link below to continue downloading your camper application! Spots are limited, so mail or fax your completed application in as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you!
