Epilepsy Foundation of the St. Louis Region

Programs

Every hour 20 Americans are diagnosed as having epilepsy. More than twice as many Americans have seizure disorders (epilepsy) as have Parkinson's Disease, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy combined! Yet, none of these well-known diseases carry the powerful stigma associated with epilepsy.

The Epilepsy Foundation of the St Louis Region provides the following training programs, community education and services:

Education

Our Education Program provides current and accurate information on epilepsy.

  • We present programs on seizure recognition and first aid for groups of all ages.
  • We offer sessions at the Foundation office on epilepsy and daily living for individuals and families.
  • We advocate for the student with epilepsy regarding epilepsy issues in schools and day care centers.
  • We answer callers' questions about epilepsy and follow up by sending information.
  • We sponsor community seminars on epilepsy featuring area neurologists and epileptologists.
  • We publish a newsletter three times annually.
