Programs & Services

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Southern Illinois offers a full range of services to help families deal with the many issues of this disorder. The services include case management, professional and public education, support groups, information newsletter, advocacy, residential services, a summer camp program, and a support network.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Southern Illinois collaborates with many other social service organizations in the community. The programs are:

 
Camp Roehr
This program is a seven day residential camp for children designed to meet the special needs of children diagnosed with epilepsy, providing a safe and fun-filled camp experience. Over the years this program has served up to a maximum of 45 children at the camp.
Client & Family Support Services
This program offers client and family support services for individuals diagnosed with epilepsy, their families, and the community at large. Case managers provide information and referral, comprehensive case management, advocacy, counseling, financial planning assistance, support groups, medical liaison and community education to approximately 36 registered consumers.
Community Integrated Living Arrangement
This program consists of two residential programs serving up to 16 adults with epilepsy and/or other developmental disabilities who need help in day to day living (24 hours a day).
Community Supported Living Arrangement
This program offers a bridge between living at home and complete independence for the up to four adults with epilepsy and developmental disabilities. Comprehensive case management and sometimes multiple weekly visits are necessary for our consumers.
Home Based Services
This program is designed to offer an array of non-residential support services such as respite, therapy services, day training programs, transportation, and nursing services through the coordination by the Epilepsy Foundation of Southwest Wisconsin's HBS team leader. The program currently serves seven individuals in the community.
Parent & Family Support Network
This program provides parents of newly diagnosed children an access to other parents who have walked a day in their shoes.
School Alert
This program gives presentations to classes and schools. Its purpose is to get rid of myths and misconceptions about epilepsy and to improve public understanding about epilepsy and its treatment options.
