Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia

How to Help

Statistics

  • In fiscal year 2002 only 6.2% of our total support and revenues went to fundraising and administrative costs. Remaining funds went to promote awareness and provide assistance.
  • We received state funding for our Use a Helmet: Prevent Epilepsy awareness program.
  • Over the last three years our public education programs reached 1 million Virginians and we provided information and referral to 6000 Virginians.
  • Almost 70 persons benefited from our medication assistance program and 25 enjoyed rides though our recently-established transportation program.

Welcome to the Epilepsy Foundation's online donation page. All donations via this page will be shared 50/50 between Virginia and the national office.

A donation to the Epilepsy Foundation can make a critical difference in people's lives.

Through your donation, you enable us to increase the quality of life for people with epilepsy through our many services.

You allow us to educate people with epilepsy, their loved ones, and the public about the disorder.

You empower us to be a vigorous advocate for people with epilepsy, focusing on affordable health care and the protection of civil rights.

You even help us make progress toward a cure through our research efforts.

Specifically in Virginia, we are looking for funds to replenish our one-time medication assistance program. Patients who have sudden financial troubles can turn to us to pay for their medications, while we seek to redress their financial problems. As many persons with epilepsy cannot drive, we have also established a transportation program for persons with epilepsy.

In addition, we hope to open five regional offices in Virginia in order to improve our social services, such as help negotiating the red tape, keeping appointments, etc.

There are many ways to support the Epilepsy Foundation. Thank you for helping us make a difference.
