Epilepsy is often called the poets' affliction. Many writers and composers had epilepsy. Dostojevski, Lewis Carroll, Flaubert, Gide, Dostoevski, Handel, Mendelssohn, Paganini and Tchaikovsky are just a few examples. But persons with epilepsy also face problems. That is why the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia Board in June 2001, accepted a strategic plan based on the following principles:

• Five regional offices will be opened to help Virginians with epilepsy locally.
• Bicycling will be promoted among those with epilepsy who cannot drive.
• A famous person will be enlisted to help clients understand the importance of taking the medication.

We shall need lots of time and money to implement these ideas. But we are willing to try. Are you willing to give us your ideas? Please write to me.
