What We Do

The Epilepsy Foundation's programs and services are designed to help people with epilepsy lead as normal a life as possible, and to support the search for a cure. As our mission statement says, we work for people affected by seizures through research, education, advocacy and service.

Within these broad categories, many of our programs and services are targeted to specific populations -- parents of children with seizure disorders; men and women who live with seizures; teachers; employers; and caregivers. Other programs speak directly to the general public with the goal of raising public awareness -- and acceptance -- of seizures and epilepsy.

Many of these activities are offered by local Epilepsy Foundations nationwide; others may be pilot programs or new programs currently available in some but not all communities. Please check with your local Epilepsy Foundation for programs that interest you.
